Countries within ASEAN stated that Bali Roadmap is the keyword, which should be the outcome of UNFCCC in Bali.
ASEAN’s mutual interest in reinforcing Bali Roadmap was shown in the ASEAN Environmental Ministers meeting (13/12).
ASEAN Environmental Ministers admitted that climate change has brought a grave risk to developing country and needed a global action. That global action should hold the principal of common but differentiated responsibilities.
Realizing ASEAN countries’ vulnerability towards climate change impacts, ASEAN leaders agree to develop ASEAN Climate Change Initiative (ACCI). This institution, later, will strengthen the capacity of each country in conducting mitigation and adaptation related to climate change. |
